Dying Artist Puts Life into Dante
Italian breast cancer victim’s horrific view of humanity at Fort Mason

In 2007, the Museo presented a fascinating exhibit by Italian artist Luisa Petruni Cellai who, after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 1980, created these tempera paintings, illustrating scenes from Dante Alighieri’s Inferno.
