Join us for an engaging interview with Milan-based artist Giovanni Cerri.

Giovanni is currently exhibiting at the Museo with his art project Milan 2020: In The Hour of The Wolf.
He began exhibiting over 30 years ago and has continually created images of the urban landscape, in particular the industrial outskirts of Milan, his city. The previous exhibition Diary of the Pandemic marks a turning point in his work. Forced to stay at home for three months, he began to draw – pen on paper – his impressions, on deprivation caused by solitude and the unreal silence of a metropolis. Thus, during the interminable lockdown, Cerri worked on the theme of the pandemic by doing historical research and selecting photographs and literature dealing with plagues of the past. A portion of his diary is included in his current exhibition. Giovanni will discuss with us the development of this unique body of works, his new book, and his future projects with us.

Giovanni Cerri was born in 1969 in Milan, where he lives and works. He began exhibiting in 1987 and since then has shown his work in Italy and abroad, in important cities like Berlin, Frankfurt, Cologne, Stuttgart, Copenhagen, Paris, Warsaw, Toronto, Rabat and Shanghai.
