He was among the founders of the neo-surrealist and neo-Dadaist Gruppo 58, closely linked to Enrico Baj’s Movimento Nucleare. In his paintings and assemblages, he always emphasized the playful aspect of art. While fun and light-hearted, Del Pezzo’s works, at the same time, aimed to be an ironic commentary on modern consumerist society that high-lighted its strengths and weaknesses.
