d. 2013 La Spezia, ItalyFabio Maria Linari was born in La Spezia, Italy, in 1959. Son of the well-known painter Giacomo Linari, he graduated from the Liceo Artistico (High School of the Arts) in Carrara and earned his degree from the Accademia delle Belle Arti in the same city. He moved to Milan in 1985, and in 1986 had a group exhibit at the Galleria Bergamini. There he met art critic Giovanni Tesori who would go on to have a great impact on Linari’s work and artistic style. In 1988 Linari had his first solo exhibiton at Gardone Riviera, Lombardy, presented by Francesco Frangi, titled
La Periferia e il Ponte (The Periphery and the Bridge). He went on to have many shows throughout Italy and the U.S. Linari taught for many years at the Liceo Artistico of Bergamo before returning to his home town of La Spezia, where he died unexpectedly at the age of 54.
