b. 1953 Naples, ItalyNino Longobardi is a self-taught artist from Naples. His first exhibition was in 1978 where he displayed work that focused on space and architectural uses of space by drawing on paper and directly on walls. After the devastating 1980 earthquake in Naples, Longobardi’s focus shifted toward the representation of the human body and themes of death. His work has always been inspired by the city of Naples both in subject matter and emotional context.
