Cari Amici del Museo,
After a five-year tenure like no other, our beloved Italian Consul General Lorenzo Ortona and his family are returning to Rome. Words cannot express the Museo’s gratitude for the support and friendship Consul General Lorenzo Ortona and his wife Sheila Pierce Ortona have extended to the Museo, in particular for the Museo’s plans for its future home at 940 Battery Street. While the last year presented extraordinary challenges, their support of the Museo never wavered. While we are sorry to see them go, we believe they are leaving their hearts in San Francisco, and we hope they will join us in a couple of years for the grand opening of the new Museo.
We would like to thank Lorenzo and Sheila for their steadfast support to the Italian Community and for being such incredible advocates for our Museo and its prosperity, and we would like to do it with our Members and Friends.
On Thursday, May 20th, at 7:00 PM we will host a “hybrid” farewell reception for them at our Museo. We can welcome a maximum of 40 participants, who are to be attending the event with face covers, respecting the social distance rules, and providing proof of full vaccination or negative Covid-19 test. Those who wish to participate from home can join us on Zoom. We will send the link to the event once we receive your registration.

In-person tickets will be assigned on a first come first served basis. When we sell out the in-person selection ticket the only possible option will be the zoom meeting.
