Join us for an enthralling conversation with internationally exhibited Italian American artist, Serena Bocchino. On a live Zoom interview, Ms. Bocchino will be discussing her art, sources of inspiration, and the lively and lyrical abstract paintings that are included in our current exhibition, Rhapsody. Ms. Bocchino is exhibiting a selection of work that spans 20 years in our galleries.

She has a master’s degree from New York University and has received recognition from numerous Art Institutions: The Artist Space Grant, Art Matters Grant and the Pollock Krasner Foundation Award, PS1/MoMA Studio Residency, the Basil Alkazzi Award USA, and The New Jersey State Council on the Arts Fellowships in both Painting and Drawing.

In addition to our exhibit, Ms. Bocchino has worked on the bilingual children’s book, COSA SONO? Storia di un dipinto Astratto (What Am I? The Story of an Abstract Painting). This children’s book includes a special activities page, as well as, a heartwarming, educational story about abstract painting. Bocchino’s 2021 publication, HEROES: Women Artists Who Influence and Inspire, a book that includes her “poem paintings”, will also be discussed. Both publications are available in the Museo Shop.
