On three consecutive Sundays in February, the Museo will screen the award-winning 2003 film La meglio gioventù (The Best of Youth). The film charts the social and political story of Italy from the mid-1960s through the early 2000s, via the saga of two brothers, Matteo and Nicola Carati. Originally planned as a four-part mini-series, the film was presented at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival where it won the Un Certain Regard award. It was then given a theatrical run in Italy, as well as in the U.S. and abroad. The six-hour film will be shown in three installments, following an introduction by Karen Antonelli, Ph.D to provide historical context.
