Kathleen Gonzalez, author of Free Gondola Ride and Seductive Venice: In Casanova’s Footsteps, returns to the Museo ItaloAmericano with her most recent book, A Beautiful Woman in Venice. Her visual presentation will feature the lives of many women who contributed to Venetian life over the span of six centuries. Learn about their talents, their challenges, their loves, their accomplishments, and more. You will have to attend or read the book to discover which woman hid steaming polenta in her bosom, which woman foiled a revolution, which woman is the model for the Venus of Urbino, and which had 37 violin concertos written for her by Antonio Vivaldi! Kathleen’s books will be available for purchase and signing after the presentation.
